AN INTRODUCTION

My Journey

What do I care about? / What is important to me?

I really care about people, family, and teams; and from my perspective, team is family, and family is team. People are only as strong as their family units, their teams and their network of friends. I believe that a person’s closest friends give a good indication of who that person will be. Likewise, your team must provide a strong culture, values and support mechanism for your people to grow and to do extraordinary things. I learned this at a very young age growing up in a dysfunctional family and going from foster home to foster home.

The only way you can have a fair shot at life is to first and foremost have a family that cares, and one that provides you with some structure. You must also have a mentor that you can look up to with solid values and purpose, him/herself. This is culture. Now the work starts with you. You have confidence, self-esteem, personal goals, a vision, and the drive to succeed.

Never give up. Developing mental fortitude will get you through the toughest times in life.

Where have I been?
I founded All-Brite Glass at the very young age of 19, and started a family at the same time. Failed many times but got back up and learned from my mistakes. Trying to figure it out on my own took a long time. I went back to the books and studied different experts in the field of business and found mentors and joined many groups to learn from others, and their failures – the power of proximity.

Where am I today?
Happily married to my wife of 30 years, father of four beautiful adults, and am a Papou (Grandpa). Running a successful family business with a wonderful team. Just getting started!

Where am I going?
We’ve set some big ass goals to build a world class glass company. We will grow organically and are embarking on growing through acquisition.

Nuggets of Wisdom
When you are about to give up, the light in the tunnel is around the corner. Never give up. Everyone plays in the sandbox where it’s safe and easy. Go to the sandbox where it’s hard and tough. There will be less competition.

ABOUT ME

My Passion/Purpose/Cause

My personal passion and purpose vision is to create a life of significance, balance, freedom and spirituality, where I can make a positive impact on the world and on those around me. As a child of Greek immigrants and as a survivor of a broken family and a difficult upbringing, I am driven by my values of family, health, education, entrepreneurship, and spiritual growth. I have always envisioned a future where I would have a strong and supportive family unit. Having raised four beautiful children (including a child with a disability and high needs) with love and compassion.

I prioritize my physical and mental well-being through a holistic approach of exercise, mindfulness, and self-care, while also exploring my spiritual growth and discovering my purpose. My commitment to education and self-development is rooted in my experiences of being a high school dropout and realizing the importance of knowledge and skills for personal growth and success.

I am passionate about using my entrepreneurial instincts and about learning from mentors and self-help courses to continuously expand my horizons. I am eager to travel the world, and to experience diverse cultures and perspectives as a means of enriching my life and personal growth. By living this vision, I hope to inspire others to also strive for their best selves and make a difference in the world.

TERRY’S MESSAGE TO PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS

You won an award when you were a kid? You graduated from university with an MBA many years ago? You won marathons in college and you were in top shape? You got a black belt many years ago…What you did many years ago does not apply to what you have done lately…What are you doing now to make an impact in your life to continuously grow? The first step is to make a commitment to yourself that you are a life learner and doer in all aspects of life. TEC is for people who want to learn and grow, and understand that just because you have an MBA or have been in business for 30 years, does not apply to today’s highly-competitive, ever-changing business environment. At TEC, we learn and grow from each other, and constantly challenge each other and ourselves. This is the power of proximity.

WORDS FROM JOE ABOUT TERRY

It is rare to find a person like Terry. He is focused, has clear goals and an inspiring vision. But it is the way he travels his journey getting there that is so uncommon, so special and beautiful. He is operating a thriving business and bringing it to new heights every year towards his vision. I think if I were to sum up the essence of Terry, it would be caring, passionate caring and gratefulness. Working with and serving and supporting him I have come to realize what a rare privilege it is. You see he takes that caring, and does something with it, every time. He keeps open to new ideas and input from people, he thirsts for it.

Through deep personal struggles with health issues in his family and the hard work it takes to move towards his vision, he consistently applies his caring to his family, employees, his clients, himself, and community as well as his friends and peers in the groups he belongs to. It takes hard work, it takes grit, it takes deep caring. And yet, for Terry, all that effort and intensity at times, doesn’t take him down, it lifts him up. And through that that energy it lifts people he touches, and they become better versions through the experience. Thank you, Terry.
